This piece was a plein air painting done at the Painted Garden in Old Town Temecula when I was out painting with my Friday painting group..oh excuse me, the Plein Air Artists of Temecula, (PAAT). If you have never been out to the Painted Garden, you are in for a treat. Lorena has done a wonderful job with the place. Even with the trees bare, this place has charm. We will be painting there again the last Friday of February. Come on down and check us out.
This piece is painted on an 8x8 canvas, and around the edges. I would look really cute on a rustic table easel on your counter tops. I painted the background thinnly, and then brushed thicker paint near the pot in the light areas. It is not as loose as I would like it to be, but, man, that pot has a LOT going on. I just couldn't help myself. Oh well, two steps forward, one step back. I think I need to go back to simple subject matter for a while, or set a time clock on these little daily paintings.
If you would like to see a larger image of this piece, be sure to click back to my main website, and look for it in the daily painting category.
